What is arnica?
Arnica is a flowering botanical that has been used traditionally for centuries in topical preparations for hardworking muscles and skin. At Essential Journeys®, we use wildcrafted arnica in several of our botanical skincare products.
What is the difference between Arnica Soufflé and Arni•cover•y Lotion?
Our Arnica Soufflé is a rich, sumptuous cream made with wildcrafted arnica, shea butter, cocoa butter, and botanicals. Arni•cover•y Lotion is a lighter, non-greasy lotion with wildcrafted arnica and mint that absorbs easily into the skin. Choose the Soufflé when you want something richer and the lotion when you prefer a lighter application.
What is Organic Tinted Lip Glaze®?
Essential Journeys® Organic Tinted Lip Glaze® combines the moisturizing feel of a lip balm with a sheer wash of color and luminous shine. Made with organic argan oil, the lightweight formula glides on smoothly and can be worn alone or layered to customize your color.
Available in four shades: Champagne, Rosé, Sangria, and Merlot.
How do I choose an Organic Tinted Lip Glaze® shade?
Champagne is the lightest, with a sheer pale-pink shimmer. Rosé adds a soft mauve-pink tint. Sangria brings a warmer orangey-crimson wash, and Merlot is the deepest, with a rich plum shimmer. All four are sheer enough to let your natural lip color show through.
How long has Essential Journeys® been making skincare products?
Our journey began in 1999, when founder Kimberly Masters began making handcrafted soaps and skincare products in Asheville, North Carolina. Essential Journeys® grew into a wholesale business in 2004 and has been creating botanical skincare ever since.
Essential Journeys® glycerin soaps are perfect for sensitive skin because the soaps leave your skin moisturized and feeling soft. Glycerin is a humectant, which means it naturally draws water to your skin. Water is the essential factor in keeping your skin soft and healthy. Glycerin helps hold moisture in the outer layer of skin to maintain skin's natural moisture balance.
The beauty of imperfections:
• Please understand that all soaps in my store are handmade, and handmade items, by nature, have imperfections. Although we are thorough, there are inconsistencies based on the creative nature, each item will look a little different from the next.
• The products you receive might vary slightly from the product picture due to the nature of your product being 100% handmade to order.
• Our items have natural and unique imperfections. Our items are studio produced and our process is genuine and full of love and care.
Soap by the Slice™ is made with a proprietary blend of vegetable oils, vegetable glycerin, humectant moisturizers, essential oils, fragrance oils, FD&C Color and natural pigments. Our soaps are made in the USA with the best globally sourced ingredients.
Let Us Brag About Our - Natural Revolutions Soap, Everyday Soaps and Goat's Milk Soaps:
WORLD WILDLIFE FUND
A portion of the sales of our Craft Beer Soaps goes to the World Wildlife Fund WWF to help protect wildlife and wild places. Our Lavender Lager Liquid Soap features a dragonfly. Dragonflies, like breweries are found on every continent except Antarctica. Dragonflies are symbols of courage, strength and happiness. The loss of wetland habitat threaten the dragonfly population around the world. Our ESB liquid soap features the honey bee, and our Grapefruit Saison features the Monarch butterfly. The Monarch Butterfly is on the cusp of being endangered. Their annual migration pattern leads them over the Blue Ridge Parkway and onward to Mexico for the winter. The WWF is the worlds leading conservation organization and works in 100 countries around the world.
WOMEN & BICYCLES
The 1890’s brought mass-production of affordable bicycles, and also allowed women to pedal themselves into a new era of freedom and mobility. Suddenly a woman could explore under her own power, limited only by her desire to see the world and make her own adventures. Bicycling helped propel the women’s rights movement in ways no one could have imagined.
In fact, American suffragist Susan B. Anthony said in a New York World interview on February 2, 1896, that the bicycle "has done more to emancipate women than anything else in the world."
Essential Journeys® TACKLES RECYCLING
As a responsible member of our local and global community, Essential Journeys® is proud to do our part to reduce waste, reuse resources, and recycle materials. Over 90% of our shipping is done with recycled boxes. Almost 100% of the packing materials in the boxes are collected from local businesses and reused. This helps to reduce the impact on our landfills and minimize our need for new paper products.
